SSC CGL 2026 registration begins for 12,256 posts; graduates can apply till June 22

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially started the application process for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026, one of the country’s biggest recruitment drives for graduate candidates seeking central government jobs. This year, the commission has announced recruitment for 12,256 vacancies across various ministries, departments, and government offices.
Eligible candidates can apply online through the official SSC website before the last date, June 22, 2026. The recruitment process is expected to attract lakhs of applicants from across the country due to the large number of vacancies and the wide range of posts available under the SSC CGL examination.
Important dates for SSC CGL 2026
The online registration process began on May 21, 2026. Candidates will be able to submit their application forms till June 22, while the last date to pay the application fee is June 23, 2026.
SSC has also provided a correction window for candidates who wish to make changes in their application forms. The correction facility will remain open from June 29 to July 1, 2026.
The Tier-1 examination is expected to be conducted in August or September 2026.
Eligibility criteria and age limit
Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2026 must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university in any discipline. However, certain posts require Mathematics or Statistics as a mandatory subject.
The age limit varies according to the post, ranging between 18 and 27 years, while some posts allow candidates up to 32 years of age. Reserved category candidates will be eligible for age relaxation as per government norms.
Application fee details
Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹100. Meanwhile, SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
SSC has made One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for all applicants before filling out the online application form.

Applicants can complete the registration process by visiting the official SSC website ssc.gov.in, completing the OTR process, filling in the application form, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee online before final submission.
