Lucknow University opens career pathways in social development and rural livelihood sectors

Students and young professionals can apply for roles under DS Foundation’s Project Samya and UPSRLM, offering hands-on experience in community development, gender awareness, and rural transformation.

In a significant step towards expanding career opportunities beyond conventional sectors, University of Lucknow has announced two major professional opportunities for students and young aspirants through its Placement Cell (Main Campus). The initiatives aim to connect youth with impactful roles in social development, gender sensitisation, and rural livelihood management.

The opportunities are being offered in collaboration with the Dharampal Satyapal Foundation’s CSR initiative “Project Samya” and the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM).

Opportunities under project Samya

“Project Samya,” a CSR-driven initiative by Dharampal Satyapal Foundation, focuses on promoting gender sensitivity and social awareness among young people. Under the project, recruitment will be conducted for the post of Gender Resource Person.

Selected candidates will be involved in conducting training sessions for children and communities, preparing progress reports, collecting feedback, and supporting various project-related activities.

The opportunity is particularly suitable for candidates from backgrounds such as Social Work, Gender Studies, Women’s Studies, Home Science, Law, Child Psychology, and other social science disciplines. Selected candidates will receive a monthly honorarium ranging between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000. The last date to apply is May 31, 2026.

UPSRLM invites applications for young professional roles

In addition to the CSR initiative, UPSRLM has also opened applications for the post of Young Professional. Operating under the Rural Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, UPSRLM is one of the state’s key missions working in the areas of rural livelihoods, women self-help groups, financial inclusion, and community empowerment.

Selected candidates will gain exposure to rural development project implementation, field monitoring, reporting, training activities, and community coordination.

Candidates with MBA and MSW backgrounds are eligible to apply for the position. The selected applicants may receive remuneration of up to ₹50,000 per month. The application deadline for this role is May 28, 2026.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Saini said that today’s youth must look beyond traditional employment avenues and actively participate in sectors linked to social development, community leadership, and nation-building. He emphasised that the university is committed to creating platforms where students can strengthen not only their academic and professional capabilities but also their social awareness and leadership skills.

Speaking on the initiative, Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhartiya said that the university aims to provide students with career opportunities that extend beyond traditional employment sectors and expose them to areas related to development, social transformation, and community leadership.
