The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a massive recruitment drive for Technician posts under the RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 campaign. A total of 6,565 vacancies will be filled for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 positions across various railway zones.

According to the short notification released by the Railway Recruitment Board, the online application process will start on June 30, 2026, and candidates will be able to apply until July 29, 2026. The recruitment drive is expected to attract a large number of aspirants preparing for government jobs in the railway sector.

Vacancy details

Under the recruitment process, vacancies have been divided into two categories:

• Technician Grade 1 Signal – 323 posts

• Technician Grade 3 – 6,242 posts

This recruitment offers a significant opportunity for candidates with technical and engineering backgrounds to secure a government job in Indian Railways.

Educational qualification

The eligibility criteria vary according to the post applied for.

For Technician Grade 1 Signal posts, candidates must possess qualifications such as:

• BSc

• Diploma in relevant field

• BE/BTech

For Technician Grade 3 posts, applicants must have:

• Class 10th pass certificate

• ITI certificate in relevant trade from a recognized institution

The minimum age required to apply is 18 years. Detailed age limits and category-wise relaxations are expected to be mentioned in the official detailed notification.

Salary structure

Selected candidates will receive attractive pay scales as per railway norms.

• Technician Grade 1 Signal: ₹29,200 per month

• Technician Grade 3: ₹19,900 per month

Apart from the basic salary, employees will also be entitled to additional allowances and benefits as applicable under Railway rules.

Selection process

Candidates will be selected through a multi-stage recruitment process that includes:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

2. Document Verification

3. Medical Examination

Only candidates who successfully clear all stages will be considered for final appointment.
