UP Forest Guard Recruitment 2026: 708 Vacancies Announced, Applications Open from June 30

Applications for state forest recruitment will open soon for eligible PET-qualified candidates, with selection based on written examination and physical efficiency test as per prescribed standards and schedule.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 708 posts for Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard in the state Forest Department. The detailed notification was released on Thursday, outlining the application process, eligibility criteria, and selection procedure.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications online from June 30 to July 20, 2026. Applicants will be allowed to make corrections and fee adjustments in their submitted forms until July 27, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Only candidates who have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 will be eligible to apply. Shortlisting for the written examination will be based on PET scores. Applicants can also register using their PET registration number. Candidates must have passed Intermediate (Class 12) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. The age limit is set between 18 and 40 years as of July 1, 2026.
A nominal application fee of ₹25 is applicable for candidates of all categories. However, shortlisted candidates will be required to pay an additional fee for the main examination.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will include:
A written examination consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours.
Negative marking will be applicable.
A Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will also be conducted.
Physical Standards
Candidates must meet the following physical requirements:
Male candidates: 25 km walk carrying 10 kg weight within 4 hours
Female candidates: 14 km walk within 4 hours
Important Instructions
Candidates are advised to keep all necessary documents ready before applying. After completing the application process, applicants must take a printout of the form, which will be required for submission to the commission. For female candidates, caste certificates issued from the paternal side will be considered valid.
