CBSE Issues New Guidelines for Class 10 Students; Major changes in exam evaluation, no correction in re-evaluation process

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued new guidelines for Class 10 students, introducing significant changes in the examination and evaluation process. According to the board, no corrections will be allowed during the re-evaluation process. Examinations must be written strictly within the allotted session. Important changes have also been made in the Science and Social Science examinations.

Campus Times/Lucknow : These guidelines are especially crucial for students appearing in Science and Social Science subjects. The instructions have been issued for the CBSE Class 10 board examinations to be held in 2026. Students can access the detailed guidelines on the official CBSE website. The Class 10 board examinations will be conducted from 17 February 2026 to 10 March 2026.

Important Changes Introduced to Improve Evaluation

To enhance the quality of evaluation, CBSE has divided the question papers into sections.

• The Science question paper has been divided into three sections.

• The Social Science question paper has been divided into four sections, namely History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.

• As per the issued instructions, students must write their answers strictly in the respective sections. Writing answers in the wrong section or mixing answers between sections will not be permitted.

Caution Required While Writing Answers

Students are advised to exercise special caution while writing their answers. Any answer written in an incorrect section or mixed with another section will not be evaluated. Furthermore, during the re-evaluation process after the declaration of results, answers written in the wrong section will not be considered under any circumstances.

Schools Directed to Conduct Answer-Writing Practice

According to the guidelines, school administrations are also required to remain alert. Schools must conduct workshops or provide other forms of training to help students practice answer writing as per the new instructions. This initiative aims to ensure a smoother examination process and improved evaluation standards.
