The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination on June 21, with more than 22 lakh medical aspirants expected to appear across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. The examination will be held in offline mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM under heightened security arrangements aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness.

Authorities have advised candidates to strictly adhere to all exam-day guidelines to avoid any inconvenience at the examination centres. Candidates must reach their allotted examination centres well before the deadline, as entry will not be permitted after 1:30 PM under any circumstances. Given the additional verification procedures, students are encouraged to plan their travel in advance and verify their examination centre details before leaving home.

Officials have warned that late arrivals may miss the opportunity to appear for the examination, regardless of the reason.

Documents candidates must carry

To gain entry into the examination hall, candidates are required to carry:

• Printed copy of the NEET UG 2026 admit card

• Valid photo identification proof

• Passport-size photographs as specified in the admit card instructions

Students are also permitted to carry a transparent water bottle inside the examination centre.

Candidates wearing customary or religious attire have been advised to report early, as additional security checks may require extra time.

Strict ban on electronic devices and unauthorised items

The NTA has reiterated that electronic gadgets and other prohibited items will not be allowed inside the examination hall. Restricted items include mobile phones, smartwatches, bluetooth devices, earphones and headphones, calculators, geometry boxes, pencil boxes and pouches, and any unauthorised study material

Candidates found carrying prohibited items may face disciplinary action or denial of entry.

Dress code guidelines for smooth security checks

To facilitate quick and hassle-free security screening, candidates have been advised to wear simple and comfortable clothing.

Male candidates should opt for light-coloured attire without metallic accessories, while female candidates are encouraged to wear plain clothing with minimal jewellery or decorative elements. Simple footwear such as sandals or slip-on shoes is recommended.

Those wearing religious attire should allow additional time for security verification and comply with examination centre protocols.

Enhanced security arrangements in place

The re-examination will be conducted under extensive monitoring mechanisms introduced to maintain the integrity of the test. Security measures include biometric authentication, CCTV surveillance, frisking procedures and real-time monitoring at examination centres.

The agency has also urged candidates to rely only on official notifications and avoid misinformation circulating on social media or other unofficial platforms. Students have been advised to report suspicious messages or fraudulent claims through designated official channels.
