The indefinite student protest at Lucknow University entered its tenth day on Thursday, with demonstrators continuing to press the administration over the expulsion of student leaders and a recent increase in fees. As the agitation showed no signs of slowing down, a Congress delegation visited the university and met Registrar Dr. Bhavna Mishra, seeking intervention in the ongoing dispute.

Student protesters have maintained their sit-in, insisting that the agitation will continue until the university addresses their concerns and takes corrective steps. The key demands include the immediate withdrawal of disciplinary action against student leaders, a rollback of the fee hike, and a transparent and fair resolution to the issues raised by students.

Amid the prolonged standoff, the Congress delegation arrived at the university campus on Thursday and held discussions with Registrar Dr. Bhavna Mishra. During the meeting, the delegation urged the university administration to revoke the expulsion orders issued against student leaders and reconsider the increased fee structure.

The delegation argued that disciplinary measures against student representatives and the fee revision have sparked widespread dissatisfaction among students and should be reviewed in the interest of maintaining a healthy academic environment.

Those present in the delegation included former MLA Shyam Kishore Shukla, Surendra Yadav, senior Congress leader and spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, Kuldeep Diwakar, Sanjay Singh, Ankit Tiwari, Amit Rai, Shravan Gupta, Abdullah Azam, Aryan Mishra, and Shami Khan, among others.

The university administration has yet to announce any decision on the demands raised by the students and the Congress delegation. Meanwhile, protesters have reiterated that their agitation will continue until concrete action is taken on the issues of expulsions and the fee hike.
