The indefinite sit-in protest at the University of Lucknow entered its fourth consecutive day on Friday, with students alleging that the university administration has yet to initiate any dialogue despite repeated appeals from the demonstrators.

According to the protesting students, no university official has visited the protest site or engaged with them since the agitation began. The students have been demanding discussions with the administration to address their concerns and resolve the ongoing impasse.

The protest received support on Friday from former Lucknow University Students’ Union president and former LUTA president Dr. Neeraj Jain, who joined the sit-in and criticized the university’s handling of the situation. He urged the administration to open channels of communication with the students and work toward an amicable solution through dialogue.

Bhagat Singh Students Morcha backs protesters, demands revocation of expulsions

Adding to the growing support, members of Bhagat Singh Students Morcha also reached the protest site and extended their solidarity to the agitating students and their demands. Representatives of the organization criticized the administration’s handling of the situation and called for a democratic resolution through dialogue.

The organization further demanded that the expulsion orders issued against students be withdrawn immediately, arguing that punitive actions against students would adversely affect their academic future. Members urged the university administration to reconsider its decisions and engage constructively with the protesters.

The demonstration had also drawn political attention a day earlier. On Thursday evening, former Lucknow University student-turned-politician Pooja Shukla visited the protest site and expressed solidarity with the students. She accused the university administration of adopting a suppressive approach and encouraged the protesters to remain steadfast in their demands.

Students further alleged that the administration has made conditions at the protest site more difficult. They claimed that the lights near the Saraswati statue are switched off at night, leaving the area in darkness. Protesters also alleged that a nearby refrigerator and cooler have been turned off, depriving them of access to chilled drinking water during the sit-in.

Calling the situation “inhumane,” students said the administration, which promotes values of ethics and morality, is displaying a contrasting attitude through its treatment of the protesters.

The protest continued to attract participation from a wider section of the student community. Several students, including Prince Prakash, Prem Yadav, Harshit Shukla, Abhishek Srivastava, Vipul Yadav, Ansh Patel, and others, joined the sit-in on Friday in support of the movement. They reiterated demands for greater transparency in university administration and urged officials to engage in meaningful discussions with the protesting students.
