Students and students leaders under the banner of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha staged a peaceful protest at University of Lucknow on Wednesday against rising petrol and diesel prices, inflation and growing unemployment. The demonstration witnessed participation from a large number of students and young people who raised slogans against what they described as anti-people policies of the Centre and the state government.
During the protest, speakers highlighted how the continuous increase in fuel prices has severely affected common citizens, farmers, students and middle-class families. They said higher diesel prices have increased the cost of farming and transportation, while expensive petrol has made daily commuting difficult for ordinary people.
