The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released detailed exam day guidelines for candidates appearing in the CUET UG 2026 examination. With lakhs of students expected to take the national-level entrance test, the agency has introduced strict dress code and security protocols to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
Candidates have been advised to carefully read all instructions mentioned on their admit cards and report to their exam centres well before the scheduled time to complete frisking and verification procedures without hassle.
Dress Code Mandatory for All Candidates
According to the official advisory, students should wear light-coloured clothes with half sleeves on the examination day. Outfits featuring large buttons, heavy embroidery, metallic accessories, or multiple pockets will not be permitted inside the exam centre.
For footwear, the NTA has instructed candidates to wear slippers or low-heeled sandals. Shoes, boots, and closed footwear have been prohibited as part of the security arrangements.
Candidates wearing religious or customary attire have been asked to report at least one hour earlier than the regular reporting time to allow additional security checks and frisking.
Documents Candidates Must Carry
Students appearing for CUET UG 2026 must bring the following documents to the examination centre:
• Printed admit card
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Passport-size photograph
Accepted photo IDs include Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or other valid government identification documents.
Electronic Gadgets Completely Prohibited
The NTA has imposed a complete ban on electronic devices inside the examination hall. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, and any communication gadgets will not be allowed.
Candidates are also prohibited from carrying study material, loose papers, geometry boxes, or any unauthorized stationery items into the exam centre.
No Entry After Gate Closing Time
The agency has clearly stated that candidates arriving after the gate closing time will not be allowed to enter the examination centre under any circumstances.
Students have therefore been advised to keep extra travel time in mind and arrive early to avoid delays caused by traffic or security checks.
The NTA said the guidelines are aimed at maintaining transparency, security, and fairness throughout the CUET UG 2026 examination process.
