Global Relevance of Buddha’s Philosophy
Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Babu from King George’s Medical University highlighted the enduring global relevance of Buddha’s philosophy. He emphasized that Buddhist teachings encourage logical reasoning, scientific inquiry, and a research-oriented mindset—qualities essential in today’s rapidly evolving world. Stressing the core values of equality, liberty, and fraternity, he noted that these principles remain vital in building a harmonious and inclusive society. Our thoughts shape our reality, he remarked, urging students to cultivate positivity and rational thinking.
Recognize Your Own Strengths
Guest of Honour Dr. Suresh Kaushal, former Director of Lokbandhu Hospital, inspired the audience with a message of self-reliance and inner awakening. Encouraging students to be their own guiding light, he underlined the importance of introspection alongside external achievements. According to him, true growth comes from recognizing one’s strengths and continuously striving for self-improvement.
The programme also featured a guided meditation session, which saw enthusiastic participation, offering attendees a moment of calm reflection amid academic life. The distribution of payas further added a sense of community bonding to the event.
