AKTU Drives Industry-Ready Talent with Innovation-Focused Capacity Building Program

Two-day initiative empowers students, startups, and incubators with market-driven skills and entrepreneurial mindset

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has taken another significant step toward aligning students with industry demands by launching a two-day Capacity Building Program for Pre-Incubators and Incubators through its Innovation Hub.
The program, aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics Department, Uttar Pradesh government. The session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey.
Focus on Market-Driven Startups and Practical Learning
Addressing participants, Alok Kumar emphasized that understanding market demand is crucial for any startup’s success. He encouraged budding entrepreneurs to identify opportunities, refine their ideas, and align products with real-world needs. He also highlighted the importance of having funding experts and experienced mentors within incubation centers to guide startups effectively.
He further suggested the establishment of “One Division, One Incubation Center” to strengthen the startup ecosystem across the state.
AKTU Aligns Curriculum with Emerging Technologies
Vice Chancellor Prof. Pandey outlined the university’s efforts to make students industry-ready by integrating modern technologies into academic programs. He noted that new-age technologies have been incorporated into B.Tech courses offered under the Center for Advanced Studies.
In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, AKTU is redesigning its curriculum to focus on innovation and skill development. The university also plans to conduct Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) on emerging fields like quantum technology to equip educators with cutting-edge knowledge.
The program featured sessions by entrepreneurship educator Dr. Rakhi Sharma, who discussed key concepts such as idea generation methods, activity-based learning, and the value proposition canvas.
The event began with a welcome address by Associate Dean Innovation Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma, while Innovation Hub CEO Maheep presented the program overview. The sessions were coordinated by CIO Vandana Sharma, with active participation from faculty members including Dean Innovation Prof. B.N. Mishra.
