First SWAYAM Course from Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University to Launch in July 2026

Dr. Ruchita Sujai Chowdhary becomes the first media educator from any UP state university to achieve this milestone

In a significant academic milestone, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University is set to debut its first course on the SWAYAM platform, scheduled for release in July 2026. The course, titled “Management Communication: Concepts, Skills and Applications,” has been developed by Dr. Ruchita Sujai Chowdhary, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism. Notably, she is the first media educator from any state university in Uttar Pradesh to have a course shortlisted on the SWAYAM platform.
Course Focus and Structure
Aligned with UGC SWAYAM Guidelines 2024, the course focuses on the core principles, models, and processes of management communication. It highlights the role of communication in key organizational functions such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, while emphasizing practical workplace applications.
Designed for a broad learner base, the course will be delivered in Hindi to enhance accessibility and promote regional language learning. It offers a comprehensive exploration of verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills, including business correspondence, report writing, presentations, meeting management, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Format, Credits and Evaluation
The nine-week course carries four academic credits and is suitable for diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. The evaluation structure includes 25% weightage for weekly assessments and 75% for the final examination. Learners will have access to a mix of video lectures, PDFs, and text-based materials for a well-rounded learning experience.
Academic Recognition and Impact
Congratulating Dr. Chowdhary, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajay Taneja described the achievement as a proud moment for the university, Lucknow, and the state. He emphasized the growing role of educators in digital learning and expressed confidence that the course will contribute significantly to enhancing students’ understanding of management communication nationwide.
Notably, this is Dr. Chowdhary’s second MOOC. Her earlier course on Media Literacy is currently being broadcast on SWAYAM Prabha channels. The latest achievement has been widely appreciated within academic circles, marking a progressive step in the university’s digital education initiatives.
