In a bid to boost eco-friendly transport solutions Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University has taken a decisive step towards sustainable mobility with the launch of an on-campus electric vehicle (EV) charging station.

The facility, set up in collaboration with EzyCharge India, is located at the solar parking area near Gate No. 01 and was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mittal said the university is committed to innovation and achieving sustainable development goals. He noted that the EV charging station is a step towards environmental protection and will also benefit students by exposing them to modern, eco-friendly technologies.

He added that such initiatives would enhance awareness about clean energy and encourage students to adopt sustainable transportation practices, while also fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental challenges.

The project has been implemented under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with the university’s engineering section developing the required infrastructure.

Officials said the facility will offer safe, convenient and fast charging services to EV users visiting the campus. The initiative is expected to promote the use of clean energy, reduce carbon emissions and contribute to building a greener and healthier campus environment.

The university administration believes the charging station will play a key role in encouraging green mobility and strengthening sustainability efforts on campus.
