For Lucknow Public School, Sector I (C.P. Singh Foundation), pride comes in many forms—but few moments match the joy of watching a former student rise to serve the state. Utkarsh Verma, an alumnus of the 2014–15 batch, has secured State Rank 197 in the UPPSC Provincial Civil Services Examination 2024 and has been selected as a Naib Tehsildar. His achievement is a testament to years of relentless effort and a reminder that great journeys often begin in school corridors.

From IIT Roorkee to Civil Services

After completing Class 12 from LPS Sector I in 2015, Utkarsh pursued a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Following his graduation, he worked briefly as a software developer in a private company before making a defining choice—to leave the corporate world and dedicate himself to civil services preparation.

Utkarsh made three attempts at the UPSC examination, reaching the interview stage once—an achievement only a fraction of aspirants manage. During this period, he was also selected as an Assistant Commandant in the Border Security Force. In 2024, he was further selected by the Ministry of Home Affairs, which he joined and continues to serve.

Cracks PCS in First Attempt, Secures State Rank

While serving with the central government, Utkarsh simultaneously prepared for the UPPSC PCS examination and cracked it in his very first attempt, securing State Rank 197. He credits his UPSC preparation for building the strong foundation that made this success possible. He supplemented his studies with online resources such as YouTube for current affairs and combined coaching with self-study.

Utkarsh’s message to fellow aspirants is simple and sincere: self-study and focus are non-negotiable. In any field, consistent and directed effort is what separates success from stagnation.

Lucknow Public School (C.P. Singh Foundation) celebrates Utkarsh Verma with immense pride and wishes him continued success in his journey ahead.
