Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Suryansh Foundation Trust to strengthen academic collaboration and enhance skill-based education for students.

The agreement was formalised on April 8 in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, along with senior university officials and representatives from the foundation.

Focus on skill development and industry exposure

The MoU aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application by introducing training programmes, workshops, seminars, and short-term courses. It will also encourage internships, industry partnerships, and certificate courses aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).

Special emphasis will be placed on enhancing students’ employability through vocational training and real-world exposure.

New academic programmes and digital push

Under the collaboration, both institutions will work towards launching new academic programmes and adopting modern teaching methods, including ICT-based learning, digital infrastructure, and smart classrooms.

Faculty development programmes, joint research initiatives, and innovative teaching practices are also part of the agreement.

The collaboration also promotes entrepreneurship, incubation centres, and research projects, with a focus on youth and women empowerment through skill development.

VC highlights NEP 2020 vision

Prof. Mittal said the initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to strengthen industry-academia linkage and expand opportunities in sectors like tourism, IT, and environmental studies.

Senior officials including Registrar Dr. Ashwini Kumar Singh and faculty members were also present during the signing ceremony.

The partnership is expected to improve students’ practical skills and job prospects, making education more career-oriented and future-ready.
