LU Launch BCA & MSc in AI and Cyber Security ; emerging tech sectors

New tech-driven courses at Lucknow University aim to boost employability with industry-focused skills

In a major step towards future-ready education, Lucknow University is set to introduce new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security from the academic session 2026–27.
The Department of Computer Science will roll out specialised courses including BCA in AI, BCA in Cyber Security, along with MSc programmes in AI and Cyber Security. Additionally, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security will also be offered.
Each BCA programme will have 60 seats, while the MSc and PG diploma courses will offer 30 seats each, according to university officials.
Eligibility Criteria
UG Courses (BCA): Students must have studied Mathematics or Computer Science in Class 12
PG Courses (MSc): A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields is required
PG Diploma: Open to graduates from any stream with basic computer knowledge
Industry-Focused Curriculum
The courses are designed to meet modern industry demands, covering key areas such as:
Machine Learning & Neural Networks
Data Analytics
Ethical Hacking & Network Security
Cryptography & Digital Forensics
Students will also gain hands-on experience through labs, projects, and internships, making them job-ready in emerging tech sectors.
Where Classes Will Be Held
Classes for these programmes will be conducted at the ONGC building on the main campus, as directed by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. P. Saini.
