In a strong push towards sustainability and innovation, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University hosted a dynamic deliberation on April 1, bringing together students, faculty, and thought leaders to chart a roadmap for sustainable development.

Organised under the joint aegis of the Sustainable Development Goals Committee and the Institution Innovation Council, the event focused on transforming ideas into impactful action. Vice Chancellor Raj Kumar Mittal chaired the session, alongside Programme Convener Naveen Kumar Arora and Advisor Manoj Joshi.

Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal stressed that ideas matter only when executed. He highlighted innovation and entrepreneurship as key, adding that mindset—not resources—drives success, citing Flipkart as an example.

Students Drive Sustainability

The event saw active participation from ‘Sustainable Ambassadors,’ who presented their ideas addressing real-world challenges. From green technologies to social innovation, students showcased solutions aligned with sustainability goals and nation-building.

Vision for Startups and Self-Reliance

Prof. Arora underlined that sustainability is no longer optional but a necessity, adding that university platforms are enabling students to turn ideas into practical solutions. Echoing this vision, Prof. Joshi set an ambitious target of nurturing 100 start-ups from the university, assuring institutional support in business planning, registration, and technical development.

A key highlight of the programme was the interactive session, where the Vice Chancellor personally engaged with students, reviewed their business plans, and encouraged them to scale their ideas into impactful ventures.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rajshree, marking a step forward in positioning the university as a hub for innovation, sustainability, and student-led entrepreneurship.
