In a strong push for public health awareness, the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) Lucknow chapter organized a vibrant car rally on Sunday to highlight the importance of early prevention of cervical cancer and thalassemia.

Nearly 150 vehicles participated in the rally, which flagged off from the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Gomti Nagar and moved through key city routes before concluding at the BBD Badminton Academy. The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to adopt preventive healthcare practices and spread awareness about these life-threatening diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Manisha Jain, General Secretary of the JITO Women’s Wing, emphasized that cervical cancer and thalassemia continue to affect many women and children, but timely screening, awareness, and preventive steps can significantly reduce risks.

The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Saurabh Singh, Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, along with Dr. Amulya Bhatt, Director of Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, and former Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia.

Addressing participants, JITO Lucknow Chapter Chief Secretary Abhishek Jain called for collective action to combat life-threatening diseases like cancer through awareness, early detection, and community support.

Several prominent personalities also attended the event, including Aparna Yadav, Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission, along with Dr. Madhulika Agarwal, Dr. K.V. Jain, and Meenakshi Parihar, among others.

The rally highlighted how community participation and awareness campaigns can play a crucial role in promoting preventive healthcare in urban society.
