Campus Times|Lucknow
With the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2026 nearing, students are experiencing exam pressure and last-minute confusion. Offering guidance at this crucial time, Kalyan Kumar, PGT (Economics) at Lucknow Public School (C.P. Foundation), South City, shared practical strategies to help students score high in Economics.
Addressing students, Kumar emphasized that calmness and conceptual clarity are essential for success. He suggested simple relaxation techniques such as deep breathing and short meditation to reduce anxiety and improve concentration.
For last-minute preparation, students were advised to revise through short notes and flowcharts, practice CBSE sample papers, and focus on frequently asked questions from the past five years. Strengthening weaker sections instead of revising only strong areas was also highlighted as a smart approach.
During Exam Hall
Sharing exam hall strategies, Kumar recommended reading the question paper carefully during the initial 15 minutes, attempting well-prepared questions first, managing time efficiently, and leaving difficult questions for later. Completing the paper early for revision can help avoid mistakes.
He also stressed that presentation plays a key role in scoring well. Neat handwriting, underlining key terms, properly labeled graphs, and structured answers can help secure full marks.
Boost Marks
Highlighting the importance of the Central Board of Secondary Education guidelines, Kumar advised students to focus primarily on NCERT textbooks, as most questions are concept-based and drawn from the syllabus. Important topics include Inflationary and Deflationary Gaps, Macroeconomics formulas, Rural Development, and National Income calculations.
Concluding his advice, Kumar stated that clear concepts, regular practice, and disciplined preparation are the foundation for achieving high scores in Class 12 Economics.
