BBAU Conducted three days’ workshop on Research Methodology, focused on Research, Youth and Nation-Empowerment

A three-day Research Methodology Workshop organized by the Department of Education, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), concluded with a formal valedictory session chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. The event witnessed active participation from academicians, research scholars, and students, highlighting the growing importance of research-driven education.

A three-day Research Methodology Workshop organized by the Department of Education, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), concluded with a valedictory session held on campus. The closing ceremony was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. Former Vice-Chancellor of Jai Prakash Narayan University, Chapra (Bihar), Prof. Harikesh Singh, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Prof. Raj Sharan Shahi, Head and Dean of the Department of Education, BBAU, along with Prof. Harishankar Singh and Program Convener Dr. Sangeeta Chauhan, were present on the dais during the valedictory session. The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, followed by the rendition of the University Kulgeet. The organizing committee felicitated the guests with bouquets, mementos, and shawls.

Workshop Objectives Highlighted

Welcoming the gathering, Prof. Raj Sharan Shahi outlined the objectives and structure of the workshop. This was followed by a detailed report presented by Program Convener Dr. Sangeeta Chauhan, who summarized the academic sessions and learning outcomes of the three-day program.

Youth as the Pillars of a Developed India

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal emphasized that the responsibility of building a developed India lies largely with the youth. He stated that education is the most powerful medium through which young people can bring positive change in society. Stressing collaboration between universities and youth, he said such synergy is essential for contributions to economic growth, policy-making, and national development.

Vice-Chance Prof. Mittal also highlighted the growing role of women in all sectors, calling it a matter of national pride. He noted that continuous progress in research has enabled India to emerge as an exporter of products ranging from agriculture to defense equipment. Underscoring the importance of research, he urged students to make effective use of government initiatives aimed at promoting research for social welfare and nation-building.

Education as a Path to Self-Realization

Chief Guest Prof. Harikesh Singh, in his address, encouraged students to pursue knowledge with complete dedication, stating that true education leads to self-realization. He described education as the force that transforms an ordinary individual into an enlightened soul. Emphasizing the constructive use of intellectual abilities, he introduced the concept of ‘QI—Quality India’ and urged students to contribute positively to national progress through meaningful research.

Research and Student Development

During the discussion, Prof. Raj Sharan Shahi remarked that research plays a vital role in student life by connecting learners with society and helping them understand and address complex social issues. He noted that such academic initiatives broaden students’ perspectives and prepare them to face future challenges with confidence.

Expert Sessions Add Academic Depth

The workshop featured three special academic sessions. The first session on Qualitative Data Analysis was chaired by Prof. Uday Pratap Singh of the Department of Anthropology, University of Lucknow. The second session, chaired by Prof. Rajesh Kumar Singh of the Department of Education, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, focused on Quantitative Data Analysis. The third session, on Concept of Educational Research and Report Writing, was chaired by Chief Guest Prof. Harikesh Singh.

Positive Feedback and Certification

Participants described the workshop as highly enriching and appreciated the practical insights shared by the experts. At the conclusion of the program, certificates were awarded to participants by the Vice-Chancellor and the Chief Guest. Prof. Harishankar Singh proposed the vote of thanks.

Faculty members including Dr. Buddhi Sagar Gupta, Dr. Subhash Mishra, Dr. Lalima, Dr. Shikha Tiwari, Dr. Victoria Suzanne, Dr. Meena Vishweshwar, Dr. Vivek Nath Tripathi, along with research scholars and students, were present throughout the program.
